Media Overload

I've been overloading my brain with media recently. Yes news media, but also a volley of gaming, YouTube (long form and shorts), reading, audiobooks, music, internet forums - whatever I can get my hands (and eyes) on. I constantly flit from one to the other, like I can't cope if one of them isn't on the go at any moment.

It's not healthy.

In a funny way I believe it's some form of unconscious protection, protecting me from doing too much this Winter. Stopping me from getting caught up in socialising and life, instead I'm consuming media, so staying indoors and resting.

But that consumption has turned to overload. I'm not switching off, ever. I stay up at night consuming and not sleeping. And so not resting.

I've recognised it now, and that lets me start to look to change things. Recognition is the first step; now to implement changes based on how I've gotten through this in the past.

I know I'm not the only one.
